The Opportunity:
The Stockperson role delivers a very high standard of horse riding and follows directed choreography while maintaining a high level of performance.
Your day to day:
- To rehearse and learn any roles or characters allocated. To follow direction given from the Show Director and VRTP management team.
- Ensure all animals are treated with care and respect. Encourage all animals to perform to their highest ability.
- Follow the direction of the Equine Manager regarding animal behaviours and training.
- Maintain all animal areas, backstage areas and stables to the highest standards. To ensure a clean and safe environment for all team members and animals.
- Ensure all show equipment, costumes and saddlery, are maintained and used to the highest safety standards and all pre-show and post show checks are completed as directed.
- Responsible for maintaining your fitness levels and physical attributes required to fulfil the role.
What you’ll bring:
- Must be able to display exceptional riding skills and horsemanship abilities
- Experience in working with other livestock (e.g. cattle, sheep, work dogs) desirable.
- To attend physicals as directed by VRTP and the ability to maintain physical fitness for the role.
- Previous performing in a live theatrical environment is desirable.
- Must be available to work afternoon/evenings over a rotating roster.
