Exciting opportunity for a Sports & Recreation Attendant to join our Defence team at Kokoda Barracks, Canungra

• • Part time role, minimum 14 hours, Max 38 hours.

Your day to day activities:

• • Provide new members or visitors with facility overview, non-technical use of gymnasium equipment within each facility, location of amenities, hours of operation, dress standards and behaviour guidelines, emergency procedures, hygiene, administrative requirements, access and safety awareness protocols consistent with site standing orders
  • Maintain the weights and cardiovascular fitness areas ensuring areas are kept neat presentation and used according to the rules of the facility. Misuse or other behaviour concerns are to be reported to PTI on duty.
  • Conduct pool opening procedures, including removing pool covers, cleaning the pool and surrounds
  • Place lane ropes in pool and prepare all safety equipment
  • Test the pool water and record the daily results in SMM
  • Conduct lifeguard activates throughout the opening hours of the pool
  • Undertake the rescue of any user as required in accordance with standard work instructions covered by the certification
  • Ensure all pool safety equipment and rescue equipment is available at all times

ABOUT YOU

• Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
• Current Resuscitation Certificate
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate
• Genuine passion for excellent customer service
• Suitability for Defence security clearance (Australian citizenship mandatory)
• Minimum 1 year experience in a life guard role
• While the Qualifications are a plus, we are willing to train the right person.
