The role
Crown Sydney have multiple opportunities available to join the team as a Security Officer on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Security Operations Manager, you’ll be key to ensuring the highest levels of safety and security for our guests, residents, staff and across the property and premises. As well as monitoring all activities across the property, our Security & Surveillance team also provide support to our Food & Beverage, Events, Hotel, Retail and Casino Operations departments.
To be considered for this role, you must have 24/7 availability and be able to commit to 12-hour shifts across a rotating roster that includes weekends, public holidays, and late nights.
As part of the recruitment process, candidates selected to progress will need to complete relevant Police & Criminal History checks as well as a functional assessment. Successful candidates will also need to attend a compulsory on-boarding and training program run over 2 weeks between Monday – Friday (paid).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Observe and monitor all activity and persons, whilst taking appropriate action to prevent injury, loss or damage
- Dealing with conflict or incidents in a timely, discreet, professional, and confidential manner
- Manage and deal with situations that involve conflict, intoxicated persons or apprehended offenders
- Managing crowd levels, potential safety hazards, alarms, emergency situations and building evacuations
- Adhering to all Crown policies, SOPs, laws, regulations and other legal requirements applicable in relation to powers of search, arrest, use of force, WH&S to maintain a safe and secure site
- Maintaining security and safety via roving and static functions at assigned posts and other areas of the property
- Escorting or transporting valuables including chips, cash, and documents
- Reporting any faults, breaches or incidents as soon as possible, to minimise and prevent harm
- Operating basic security equipment including radios and other tools of trade
About you
- Current 1A NSW Security Licence & First Aid Certificate
- Current or ability to obtain NSW RSA & RCG Competency Card
- Ability to obtain and maintain a NSW Casino Employee Licence
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role (casino / clubs experience will be advantageous)
- Previous Emergency Management and First Aid training is highly regarded
- Strong customer service skills with a passion for delivering elevated customer experiences
- Excellent problem solving, teamwork and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with various groups of people
