With over 400 employees across three venues, the Marketing team are looking for a passionate Graphic Designer to join their close-knit and hands on team in a temporary role to cover a staff member who is on secondment in a parental leave vacancy.  This role will commence immediately and end in approximately February 2026.

 

The Role

In this position you are responsible for developing and creating visual campaigns and representations for the Canterbury brand that engage, inform and inspire the Canterbury Group and its wider community. You will have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends from time to time and travel to all media calls and Canterbury amalgamated venues.

Supporting the General Manager of Sales and Marketing and Marketing and CRM Manager and wider Marketing business unit, you will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating the design process for both digital and print content, from initial brief to concept development and design to final deliverable and completed artwork production.
  • Creating and maintaining a consistent visual identity for Canterbury Group brands, ensuring cohesion across various platforms including digital, print, website, social media and mobile app.
  • Design logos, icons, and other visual elements that represent the unique identity of each brand.
  • Create engaging marketing collateral, including banners, promotional graphics, and advertisements, to support the marketing team in promoting brands across all marketing channels.
  • Provide design support for social media graphics, email campaigns, and other promotional materials.

 

Relevant Skills and Experience

In addition to displaying a professional and flexible approach to your work, along with superior communication, planning and prioritisation skills, to be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current NSW RSA & RCG Competency Card (essential)
  • Formal qualifications in Graphic
  • Minimum 2 years Graphic Design experience, in-house or agency.
  • Intermediate to Advanced level in Adobe Indesign, Photoshop & Illustrator.
  • Proficiency in other Adobe Creative Suites.
  • Strong knowledge in conceptual layout, typography, and publication design principles

Bonus if you have:

  • Previous experience in photography, and sound understanding of photo composition, editing, retouching, colour balance and lighting.
  • Basic video editing and motion graphics skills including Adobe After Effects.
